April 18, 2009 . . .and beyond . . .

  • This event brings together individuals from the far corners of The White Rhino Network
  • The day will feature presentations, interactions, and performances designed to encourage each participant to move into "The Intersection," transcending traditional boundaries of industry, generation, career, discipline or world view.
  • The goal is to empower the active participation of each person to reach toward others in intersecting ways and thereby to think and to act more collaborativley and innovatively.

Agenda and Schedule

8:00 - 9:00 - Registration, Light snacks and Intersecting with each other

9:00 - 10:00 - Welcome and Introductory Sessions

10:00 - 11:30 - "Leading in Difficult Times" - led by Dr. Scott Snook, Harvard Business School

11:30-11:45 - Break

11:45 - 12:30 - "The Intersections of My Life" - led by Donovan Campbell, former US Marine Corps Captain and author of "Joker One," New York Times Bestseller (Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing during the breaks)

12:30-1:15 - Lunch break (Choice of sandwiches, with vegetarian options), book signing, interpersonal intersecting

1:15-2:15 - "The Medici Effect: Stepping Into the Intersection" based on the book "The Medici Effect" by Frans Johansson

2:15-2:30 - Break

2:30-3:15 - Break-Out Groups: "At This Stage in My Life, How Do I Think About Moving Into the Intersection?"

4 Groups - College/Grad School, Early Career, Mid-Career, Late Career/Retired

3:15-3:30 - Break

3:30-4:30 - Camelot - The Round Table

Panel Discussion: "How Faith Intersects with Career and Life" - as viewed from several faith perspectives

4:30-5:30 - Closing Thoughts - Speed Coaching, Feedback, After Action Review

5:30 - Dismissed to continue intersecting over dinner in small groups.

 


Each attendee is expected to procure a copy of "The Medici Effect" by Frans Johansson and read it before April 18.

There will be opportunities throughout the day for attendees to showcase their business, non-profit, art, music group, favorite charity.  If you have art you would like to display at the event, contact Al Chase

Parking is limited.  If possible, take the T to Kendall/MIT stop on the Red Line.

Plan your day to allow time for dinner after the event.  Each attendee is strongly urged to identify during the course of the day one or more individuals to dine with on Saturday evening to continue the spirit of the Intersection.
